Virtual Training in West Africa
In 2019, I traveled to Guinea (where I served as country director for Peace Corps from 2014 to 2016) to conduct a five-day leadership program in French for two rural agricultural associations. This was implemented through the US Agency for International Development “Farmer to Farmer” program administered by Winrock International.
Like many people, I have not been traveling much lately due to COVID, but I am about to begin my third Guinea virtual training during the past two years. Next week, I am collaborating with my former Peace Corps colleague Ousmane Diallo to train executive board members of the Guinea Beekeepers Federation on cooperative creation and management.
The training is designed so that the members can become more efficient, organized, and business oriented. Ousmane is there on the ground in Labé, and I have been supporting his efforts remotely to develop and refine the training materials. He is an excellent leader and trainer, and I am very proud of him!
